ASIAN SIKA DEER

 

Native of a number of Asian countries, there are several sub species of Sika in the US. Ours are mostly classified as Asian Sika and are dark brown to black in color. Occasionally we see one showing more Dwobaski or Formosa, which are reddish with spots similar to Axis.

This is a challenging hunt as they are a secretive animal by nature and the large males  can not be patterned.
